What is BlaccuWeather?
BlaccuWeather is a fansite of the hit
Fox TV show
Family Guy. BlaccuWeather.com features the Channel 5 metereologist, Ollie Williams. He gives you the current weather conditions, short and to the point.
A compilation of his appearances on Family Guy can be seen
here.
Are you affiliated with Fox, Family Guy, or AccuWeather?
No! We are not in any way affiliated with Fox, Family Guy or
AccuWeather. We are simply great fans of the hilarious show, and therefore decided to pay tribute to the show by creating our own 'BlaccuWeather Forecast'.
How does it work?
We take your machine's IP address, run it through our database to determine its approximate location and then display the current outdoor conditions of that location. The weather data is taken from
Yahoo! Weather so much thanks to them.
How accurate is this? What is the accuracy displayed?
Accuracy depends on many factors.
The most important factor is the accuracy of our IP database. When we try to determine your general area or nearest city, we look up your IP address, sometimes these IP addresses are not unique to a particular area or are unique to a very large area, which will decrease the chance of an accurate city estimate.
If a proxy server is used, the weather will be displayed for the location of the proxy server. Major cities in general, have more frequently updated data and is therefore more accurate. Weather itself is not always predictable, and provided data has a time lag of anywhere from a minute to an hour. Again, major city conditions are more reliable.

Why is the weather unavailable in my area?
Either the data for your location is unavailable or we were not able to determine your location properly.
Currently we only support cities in the US as well as some major cities around the world.
You don't actually have to check your TCP/IP settings or enable cookies.
Note: Another possible reason - Yahoo! blocked their feeds to our site. Please try again in 10 minutes or so.

How can I get my city added?
Please e-mail us at
admin@blaccuweather.com.
How to specify my exact location
Simply point your address bar (or bookmark) to
http://www.blaccuweather.com/?code=55555
where 55555 is your postal code (if you are in the US). If you are not in the US, you may enter your location ID which you can find in
Yahoo! Weather. It is the crazy filename located in the address bar once you find the city you are looking for. (i.e. For Toronto, the address is http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/CAXX0504.html so the location ID is simply CAXX0504)
Can you display tomorrow's forecast, wind speed or other conditions?
Yes, but we choose not to in order to keep with the philosophy of Ollie Williams, short and simple. We may decide to add more details later in the future if the demand is high enough.
Edit: Demand was certainly high enough, we now give today and tomorrow's forecast, no windspeed or other extra information yet though.. maybe if demand is high enough again, don't want the page to be too cluttered.
I am offended by this site and its depictions of African Americans
It is not our intent to offend anyone or to make any racial judgements. We are simply building on the humor that is Family Guy. Family Guy parodies and pokes fun at a lot of organizations, celebrities and other groups which is where a lot of its appeal comes from. If you do not appreciate this type of humour or are offended by it, we welcome you to not visit this site again.
How can I help make the website more accurate?
Thank you for even considering to help, however, there isn't much we can do to improve the accuracy of the site. The only way is to use a more accurate ip database to determine user locations, but that costs money, about $400 US, and for a fansite that we're making for fun, we don't really intend to shell out that money ourselves. If you wish to contribute some money to us, we promise we will use the money towards purchasing the more accurate commercial database. Even a single dollar would help. We will keep track of our total on this page. Please email me for info if you wish to donate. We take paypal and mailed cheques/cash.
